I’ve been rediscovering music from the 80’s, so on impulse, I finished my sadhana (spiritual practice) this morning with some dancing – I turned on my internet radio to the 80’s channel and “What a feeling” from Flashdance was playing.
I can tell you that I am a teenager of the 80’s so the Flashdance music and rather raunchy movie are embedded in my memory and I have a vivid recollection of me pounding my feet on the spot in my bedroom (possibly wearing leg warmers too) as per the movie. What more could I want from a movie at the age of 13 – a female welder by day and dancer by night who follows her passion, faces her fears, and snogs the boss?
And as I sang the lyrics, I realised that they matched the theme of my next workshop (Unleash Your Creative Energy) on the second or sexual chakra. Ah, synchronicity is a beautiful thing.
On top of that it beautifully illustrates that we are a sacred vibration – a song, a dance that is remembered by tuning in to the rhythm of Life and letting passion (ie your second chakra) show you the way. I invite you to get your leg warmers on and start moving, and re-discover your passion for Life. No more just going through the motions!
