PORTALS OF DE-LIGHT

Usually, I find August really challenging - money seems to gush out, but not much comes in, everyone seems to be at a festival or on an amazing holiday, and I’m supposed to be out doing something, ANYTHING to prove I’m having a great time.

But this year I realised, it’s OK to do F.A, aka potter about (or more to the point, just enjoy having no set obligations), soak up the actual sun (so much Light!), rest, recover and realise, I have been and still am going through a major life transition.

A rite of passage. A deep, dark death and I’m not meant to be out doing all the stuff I used to.

OR at least being a lot more picky about what that is.

And for quite a while I’ve not felt able to offer much as I go through this.

BUT, I’ve come back with some fresh energy and inspiration, in part thanks to the @heartoftherose_festival (Just WOW)

So glorious to receive and be in the energy of such beauty, love, acceptance, and wisdom (including the beautiful mandala at the base of an ancient oak tree above).

Phoar, I feel like I almost went full Lunatic in the lead up to the Lunar Eclipse and just prior to that, the Rose Temple gathering I held.

I wanted to run, to hide, to cancel the damn thing. But I didn’t.

And now I’m letting you know about the next one - a gentle one, perhaps recovering from the eclipses (next one on the 8th April) and mercury retrogrades and all the other stuff happening in your life journey.

And it’ll be a couple of days AFTER the full moon could make all the difference...exhale....

I am thinking of renaming the Rose Temple the Fuck It Club, inspired by @kate_codrington Second Spring book (self care in menopause)? is it trademarked Kate??

=> connect with what needs tending to for the year ahead (it’s easy, you come empty, let it arise with some prompts from me in a guided meditation) and integrate that with some journalling/art/movement afterward

=> experience an uplifting kundalini mantra meditation to plant & nourish YOUR seeds from what has emerged from the above... which will also increase your energy & positivity ( and if you like it, join me for a 40-day practice of this or perhaps another idea that arises in this session to bring us to the Spring Equinox together)

As part of this I’ll arrange some extra zoom sessions to practice the meditation together over those 40 days.

Not made them before so fingers crossed. It’s a fine line with floral waters!!

No matter what, they’ll be made with love & the intention to nurture all of the gorgeous women coming.

The simple things.

Me sans sleep, shower, cup of tea and in my least fav colour - high vis.

I was at a lovely women's festival (#Heartoftherosefestival ) over the weekend, and to be honest a lot of the time I was tired (not great sleep).

So I didn't rush about trying to get to any workshops -and tbh I think a lot of the magic can happen outside the official workshops, like my big sob with a couple of sisters after dinner (thankyou @lilaliannarose & @_deya_yasmin_ ).Very cathartic.

Or standing with someone under my big umbrella (it was pouring) on my volunteer parking shift talking about cycles, spirals, and feminine energy.

The things that stood out from those I did eventually attend (late)..was one that helped me to actually land in my body properly with SIMPLE movements, and breathing to release & energise (I found out after it was called "Your body is the mystery school").

The other one was on "Menopause & self-care" (thankyou to the fab @kate_codrington whose book I'm loving )where we got to notice what we actually felt - most of us were tired and sore and didn't want to go and do ecstatic dance (LOL, I thought it was just me). And to ask What would feel caring? vs trying to be in Spring or Summer vibes ALL the time.

There was a bit more to it than that, but it was another potent reminder to TUNE in to what YOU need first rather than all that linear, endless go-go of the patriarchal/capitalist BS cultural conditioning (and all of it's horrific consequences for pretty much everyone and everything).

So each time one of us listens to that natural cyclic, dynamic changing energy, we are CHANGING this world for the better.

Each part of the cycle (of our moon, sun or life phases) holds a different energy & wisdom to embrace, integrate or reclaim.

Light and dark
Growth and decay
Death and rebirth
Rest and play
Inhale and exhale

You and I don't need fixing. Despite the constant messages to the contrary.

I could however do with a long shower and a flushing loo by the end of the weekend 🙂 …the simple things.
